Robert `Rob` Burke, Age:65

Robert “Rob” Burke, born February 11, 1958, freed from the pain he suffered in this world on March 29, 2023. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Beth” (nee Schafer); two daughters, Natalie (Zachary) Barth and Kathleen (Tyler) Melby; his son, Richard; a granddaughter, Monica; his parents, Richard and Ruth “Lorraine” (nee Ridiger); his brother, Steve (Randy); his nephew and nieces, Tim, Kelly, Nicole, and Anna and many cousins.

Rob grew up in Rogers Park, attending St. Jerome’s Catholic Church and School and Gordon Tech High School. Working 22 years for Fel-Pro, Inc. in Skokie, IL, and leaving in 1998 to co-found MRO Solutions, an industrial chemical manufacturing company, in Niles, IL. Rob was a passionate teammate on many hockey (Team Chicago, The Alley, Golden Jets, Wheelers, and No-Stars), softball (Buy Low-Liquors, Twiggs, and Fel-Pro Industrial League), and bowling teams.

Residing in Edison Park for the past 33 years, Rob enjoyed golfing, trips to Door County, working out, fixing things, cheering on the Cubs and the Hawks, playing with Goose, and just being with family. Rob was a rare combination of someone who had a love of life and an understanding of what was important - the simplicity of living life with those he loved.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 20, at 11:30 a.m. at Edison Park Lutheran Church, 6626 N. Oliphant Ave., Chicago, IL 60631. Following services, family and friends will gather at 1:00 p.m. at the Morton Grove Moose Family Center, 6419 Chestnut St., Morton Grove, IL 60053, to share and enjoy memories of Rob.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choosing or as a memorial to the family.
